Supporting Faculty for a Sustainable Workforce
The national nursing shortage is well documented, but less discussed is a root cause behind it: the shortage of nursing faculty. As faculty face increasing workloads, burnout, and evolving expectations in the classroom, institutions are struggling to retain experienced educators and expand their programs.
On February 19, we hosted a webinar featuring a panel of higher education and nursing leaders who explored the growing challenges facing nursing faculty. The discussion examined the drivers of faculty shortages and burnout, the role of evidence-based teaching development in strengthening retention and instructional quality, and scalable strategies institutions can use to support, retain, and grow their nursing faculty.
